At Elliott Tree Farm, we are proud to offer private group tours near Toronto, including international travel groups, tour operators, schools, youth organizations and private groups looking for an authentic Canadian experience approximately one hour from Toronto.
Recently, we welcomed a large group of Scouts visiting from the United Kingdom to the farm. Sharing our maple traditions with visitors from across the world was a wonderful reminder that the things rooted in our everyday farming life can become some of the most memorable parts of a Canadian journey.
Experience Canadian Maple Traditions Where They Happen
Elliott Tree Farm is a circa 1850 family Christmas tree and maple syrup farm near Hillsburgh, Ontario. The property is home to Christmas tree plantations, a maple forest, heritage farm buildings, a working sugar shack and the Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario.
Our private group experiences invite guests into that landscape to discover one of Canada’s most iconic agricultural traditions firsthand.
Depending on the season and group, an experience can include a maple syrup tasting flight, a ride through the farm on the Maple Trolley, a guided walk through the sugarbush, a visit to the maple sugar shack and time exploring the Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario. Guests can also enjoy our signature waffle and ice cream sandwich topped with Elliott Tree Farm maple syrup and finish the experience with maple taffy over ice.
Most importantly, guests leave understanding a little more about where maple syrup comes from, how it is produced and the farming traditions that continue behind every bottle.
Private Group Tours Near Toronto for International Travel Groups
For international groups, visiting Elliott Tree Farm offers an opportunity to step outside the city and experience rural Ontario.
Guests visit a working tree farm, walking through the maple forest, seeing where syrup is produced and tasting maple products made from the trees growing around them.
Private tours can be customized for travel groups, youth organizations, corporate delegations, incentive travel programs and other organizations looking to include a distinctly Canadian experience in their Ontario itinerary.

Private Experiences On the Farm or at Your Location
Not every group can travel to Elliott Tree Farm, which is why we can also bring the maple experience to you.
Elliott Tree Farm offers curated offsite maple experiences for conferences, tourism activations, executive gatherings, media events and private functions. These experiences bring Canadian maple traditions directly to your location through tastings, storytelling and carefully selected elements of the farm experience.
For Toronto based conferences and international events, an offsite experience can be a memorable way to introduce visitors to Canadian maple culture without adding another destination to the itinerary.
Friday’s for Students
Elliott Tree Farm is also introducing Friday’s for Students, a dedicated maple experience created for school groups.
Offered every Friday through November 6 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, the program gives students an opportunity to move beyond the classroom and experience Canadian agriculture firsthand on a working farm.
Students will enjoy:
- A guided maple farm experience
- Maple syrup tastings
- A ride through the farm on the Maple Trolley
- Our signature waffle and ice cream treat with pure maple syrup
- Hands on learning about maple syrup and Canadian farming traditions
- An official Elliott Tree Farm Maple Expert Certificate
- A mini bottle of Elliott Tree Farm maple syrup to take home
By the end of their visit, students will leave as official Maple Experts, with a better understanding of the journey from the maple tree to the syrup on the table.
The program is $39.50 per participant and requires a minimum group of 50 people.
Students will also receive a certificate with a special opportunity to return to Elliott Tree Farm with their families. Additional details on the family return offer will be provided as the program is finalized.
Schools can reserve their preferred Friday online and contact Derek directly to discuss the details of their visit. Teachers and administrators can learn more here.
Friday’s for Students will run through November 6 before returning again with Maple Season in February.
Learning Through an Authentic Farm Experience
Whether we are welcoming Scouts from the United Kingdom, a local class from Ontario or an international tour group visiting Canada for the first time, the purpose is much the same.
We want guests to experience something real.
At Elliott Tree Farm, maple syrup is not simply a Canadian souvenir. It begins in the forest, follows the seasons and represents generations of agricultural knowledge and tradition.
The farm’s Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario adds another layer to that story, introducing visitors to the history of maple production and how maple syrup making has evolved over time.
By tasting, touring and experiencing the farm firsthand, visitors have an opportunity to connect the food they enjoy with the land and people behind it.
