Sustainable tree farm values are at the heart of Elliott Tree Farm, where Christmas trees, maple syrup, Santa visits, Canada Day celebrations, and authentic farm experiences come together across the seasons.
As proud active members of Christmas Tree Farmers of Ontario and the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers’ Association, Elliott Tree Farm is committed to caring for the land, supporting responsible farming practices, and preserving meaningful Canadian farm traditions for future generations.
At Elliott Tree Farm, every season tells a story.
For some families, that story begins with the search for the perfect Christmas tree. For others, it starts with the sweet taste of pure maple syrup, a ride through the Maple Forest, a visit with Santa, or a Canada Day afternoon spent together on the farm. No matter when guests arrive, the experience is grounded in something deeper than a day out.
Elliott Tree Farm is built on tradition, stewardship, and authentic farm experiences that connect people to the land, to the seasons, and to one another.

Farming With Care
At the heart of Elliott Tree Farm is farming.
Long before guests walk the rows in search of a Christmas tree or step onto the Maple Trolley, there is ongoing care happening across the farm. Christmas trees do not grow overnight. They require years of planting, pruning, tending, and patience before they become part of a family’s holiday tradition.
That long-term approach is part of what makes a sustainable tree farm so meaningful. A Christmas tree farm is a living landscape. Trees are planted, nurtured, harvested, and replanted with future seasons in mind. Each year is connected to the next, creating a cycle of care that supports the land while preserving the joy of choosing a real tree.
At Elliott Tree Farm, that cycle of care is taken seriously. For every Christmas tree harvested, three new Christmas trees are replanted. This helps ensure that the farm continues to grow for future generations while preserving the tradition of choosing a real Christmas tree.
For Elliott Tree Farm, sustainability is not just about farming practices. I
t is about responsibility. It means respecting the land, honouring the work that goes into every season, and welcoming guests into a place that continues to grow with purpose.
Our Christmas tree plantations also add oxygen to the environment as they grow, while contributing to the beauty and agricultural value of the land. As a renewable, biodegradable crop grown on a working farm, a real Christmas tree is a meaningful environmental choice for families who want their holiday traditions to feel natural, local, and connected to the land.
Part of a Bigger Canadian Farming Tradition
Elliott Tree Farm is proud to be part of a larger agricultural story in Ontario and across Canada.
The Canadian Christmas Trees Association represents the Christmas tree industry nationally and helps growers stay connected to best growing practices shaped by technology, research, and hands-on experience. The association also notes that its mission includes providing members with information on the effective use of resources for sustainable business practices.
Christmas Tree Farmers of Ontario also highlights the importance of cooperation, education, and shared experience among Ontario growers. The organization is a non-profit funded by farmers who grow Christmas trees as a crop, with a goal of helping solve practical issues related to the production, marketing, and retailing of Ontario-grown Christmas trees.
These industry values reflect what guests experience firsthand at Elliott Tree Farm: a working farm rooted in patience, care, tradition, and the long-term health of the land.

Why Real Christmas Trees Matter
Choosing a real Christmas tree is about more than holiday décor. It is a choice that supports farmers, local agriculture, and a renewable seasonal tradition.
According to the Canadian Christmas Trees Association, more than 20,558 hectares, or 50,800 acres, were dedicated to Christmas tree production in Canada in 2021. The association also notes that one acre of Christmas trees produces enough oxygen for 18 people.
Christmas Tree Farmers of Ontario shares that Christmas trees have environmental benefits as a farm crop. Their root systems help hold soil, ground cover helps prevent erosion, and tree farms can provide refuge and feeding areas for wildlife. Like other plants, Christmas trees absorb carbon dioxide as they grow and produce oxygen.
After the holidays, real Christmas trees can continue to be useful. Christmas Tree Farmers of Ontario notes that real Christmas trees are biodegradable and can be chipped into mulch, used as winter shelter for birds, or repurposed in other environmentally friendly ways.
For families visiting Elliott Tree Farm, this adds meaning to the annual tradition. A real Christmas tree is not only beautiful in the home. It is part of a thoughtful farming cycle that begins years before it is harvested and continues even after the holidays are over.

Rooted in Maple Syrup Tradition
The maple side of Elliott Tree Farm is equally connected to Ontario’s agricultural heritage. At Elliott Tree Farm, maple syrup production is approached with care and respect for the trees. The farm takes only approximately 2% of the sap from its maple trees, allowing the trees to continue thriving season after season. This reflects the farm’s belief that maple production should work with nature, not against it.
The Ontario Maple Syrup Producers’ Association, also known as OMSPA, was formed in 1966 to represent maple syrup producers across the province. Today, OMSPA represents more than 600 sugar makers across Ontario and supports educational and information-sharing activities through provincial work and 11 local chapters.
OMSPA is committed to promoting high-quality maple syrup using best available management practices in both maple operations and the maple forest. The association also promotes the maintenance of a sustainable and healthy maple forest resource base, helping ensure that Ontario’s maple traditions continue for generations.
At Elliott Tree Farm, maple syrup is not simply a product on a shelf. It is part of an experience. Guests can taste, learn, tour, and connect with the land in a way that brings the maple season to life.
Authentic Farm Experiences
In a world where so much feels rushed, polished, and disconnected, Elliott Tree Farm offers something refreshingly real.
The farm is not about creating a manufactured experience. It is about inviting people into an authentic farm setting where the beauty is found in the simple details: walking through rows of trees, smelling fresh evergreen in the air, tasting maple syrup made from the land, warming up in the Heritage Barn, or watching children experience the magic of the season for the first time.
The Christmas Tree Season, Maple Syrup Experience, Maple Sugarbush Tour and Tasting, Gift Barn, Santa’s Cabin, and farm events all share the same purpose. They give guests a chance to slow down and enjoy something traditional, meaningful, and rooted in place.
These are the kinds of experiences that become part of a family’s story. The annual tree-cutting photo. The maple syrup bottle brought home after a tour. The visit with
Santa. The familiar drive back to the farm year after year.
The Magic of Santa
Santa is an important part of the Elliott Tree Farm experience because he represents more than Christmas excitement. He represents wonder, nostalgia, and the joy of childhood.
For many families, visiting Santa at the farm becomes a cherished tradition. It feels different from a quick stop in a shopping mall. At Elliott Tree Farm, Santa is part of the larger farm experience: the fresh trees, the barn, the winter air, the family photos, and the feeling of stepping into a classic Christmas memory.
That sense of magic matters. It is one of the reasons families return year after year. The farm creates space for children to believe, for parents and grandparents to be part of the moment, and for everyone to experience the season in a way that feels warm, welcoming, and timeless.
Celebrating Community on Canada Day
While Elliott Tree Farm is widely known for Christmas trees and maple syrup, the farm is also a place to gather beyond the holiday season.
Canada Day is a beautiful example of that community spirit. Opening the farm for a complimentary customer picnic brings together valued Christmas Tree and Maple Syrup Experience guests in a relaxed, family-friendly way. With maple syrup tasting, a Maple Trolley tour through the Christmas tree plantations and Maple Forest, food, music, and space to enjoy the outdoors, the day reflects what the farm does best: creating simple, meaningful experiences in a beautiful rural setting.
It is also a reminder that Elliott Tree Farm is not only a place to visit once a year. It is a place connected to family traditions, local agriculture, and shared moments across the seasons.
Tradition That Feels Personal
One of Elliott Tree Farm’s core values is tradition, but tradition here does not feel old-fashioned in the distant sense. It feels personal.
It is the tradition of choosing a real Christmas tree instead of unpacking one from a box. It is the tradition of tasting maple syrup and learning where it comes from. It is the tradition of taking family photos in the same place each year. It is the tradition of returning to the farm because it feels familiar, welcoming, and real.
The farm experience is designed to bring people closer to the seasons. Winter brings Christmas trees, Santa, and evergreen memories. Spring brings maple syrup and the sweetness of the sugarbush. Summer brings community gatherings and time outdoors. Each season has its own rhythm, but all of them are connected by the same values.
A Place Where Memories Grow
Elliott Tree Farm is more than a destination. It is a working farm, a family tradition, a seasonal experience, and a place where memories grow.
From sustainable tree farming to maple syrup experiences, from Santa visits to Canada Day celebrations, every part of the farm reflects a commitment to authenticity. Guests are not simply attending an event. They are stepping into a place shaped by care, tradition, and the natural beauty of the land.
That is what makes Elliott Tree Farm special.
It is a place where farming is honoured, seasons are celebrated, and families are invited to be part of something real.
A place to visit.
A place to return to.
A place where traditions take root.
